Amy Leung is a certified Communicative Disorders Assistant with a Master of Education in Developmental Psychology and Education, a TESOL Certificate, and a NLA-trained clinician candidate. With over seven years of clinical experience primarily supporting the pediatric population, her contributions extend to organizations and institutions through research, committee activities, and resource development, making her an asset to the SAC Board.

Passionate about communication health, she holds special interests in advocating for the profession, AAC users, faith-based disability curriculum, language research, and creating awareness about teaching music to people with disabilities. Amy regularly volunteers with organizations focused on the field of communication disorders and disabilities and has been serving on CDAAC’s Executive Committee for 3 years, strengthening her leadership skills and knowledge of operating a national professional association.

As a research assistant at UofT, she contributes to the Test of Higher Order Language project through data transcription and analysis, systematic review and project narrative writing, and booklet development. In the community, she uses supportive communicative strategies to facilitate faith-based activities for people with disabilities, knowledge translation to design parent-friendly resources about developmentally appropriate activities and her training in language acquisition to tutor adults learning English as an additional language.
