Student Initiative Grant

Empowering student leadership, innovation, and impact

Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) is committed to advancing the professions, supporting our members and associates, and championing the needs of people with communication disorders. In alignment with this mission, we are proud to introduce the SAC Student Initiative Grant, a new funding opportunity designed to elevate student-led projects that strengthen our professions and the communities we serve.

Purpose of the Grant

This grant supports initiatives that reflect SAC’s mission to optimize communication, health, and education outcomes for all while fostering student engagement, leadership, and innovation. Projects should align with SAC’s strategic objectives to advocate, inform, and engage across speech-language pathology, audiology, and communication health.

What Types of Initiatives Are Eligible?

We encourage proposals that demonstrate leadership, creativity, and a commitment to advancing our professions. Examples include:

  • development of student-directed resources or professional development opportunities, supporting SAC’s goal of being a leading provider of knowledge and tools for our professions;
  • funding support for rural or remote clinical placements, helping expand access to essential communication health services across Canada; and
  • advocacy initiatives that elevate the needs of people with communication disorders and promote recognition of our professions’ vital contributions.

If your idea strengthens student learning, enhances professional capacity, or contributes to meaningful change, we want to support it.
