Jessica Hansen, CDA & Co-Founder of Sing Play Say
Jessica Hansen is a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) based in Ontario with experience supporting children and families across hospital, community, school, and private practice
settings. She holds a post-graduate certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistant studies from Georgian College, a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph, and a diploma in Fitness and Health from Humber College.
Jessica has worked at ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and in private practice. She currently provides speech and language intervention through Words Plus, supporting autistic children and their families including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Jessica is particularly passionate about AAC, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and empowering caregivers to support communication within everyday routines. She is committed to lifelong learning and regularly pursues professional development to strengthen her clinical skills. In addition to her clinical work, she co-founded Sing Play Say, a parent-focused early communication program designed to help families build communication skills through play, songs, and daily interactions.
Jessica is honoured to receive the 2026 Speech-Language & Audiology Canada Communication Health Assistant Award of Excellence.
