“I’ve been a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 40 years. I graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1979 and have spent my career working with underserved populations: people in rural and remote communities, individuals with fluency disorders, chronic aphasia post-stroke, dysarthria related to movement disorders, and children with severe developmental disabilities. I have held both supervisory roles and clinical roles. 

After 30 years in the public sector, I transitioned to private practice. I’m committed to evidence-based practice and always open to innovative interventions backed by strong research. While I have extensive provincial board experience, my focus in recent years has been on clinical work. 

Most of my private practice is virtual, which has been both rewarding and challenging. While I appreciate the accessibility and flexibility for my clients, I miss the spontaneous collaboration and support that comes from working closely with colleagues and a health care team.  

My work is also deeply personal—during my mid-career years, I cared for my husband, who had Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. That experience shaped my understanding of caregiving, allowing me to connect with and support caregivers in a meaningful way.“
