Two-Day Intercultural Practice Intensive
Diagnosis is not destiny: Cultural difference or neurodevelopmental disorder?
A 13.5-hour intensive, including an intercultural working lunch as part of the learning experience, for clinicians and educators navigating migrant, multilingual, and neurodiverse caseloads (occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, social workers, family-support professionals). Move beyond deficit interpretations and anglocentric assessments: acquire actionable tools, examine authentic clinical dilemmas with leading experts, and empower families as true co-designers in therapy.
On October 23–24 in Edmonton, MultilinguAbilities will be hosting a Two-Day Intercultural Practice Intensive focused on how culture, language, migration, identity, disability, and lived experience influence professional practice and service delivery with immigrant and newcomer families.
The Intensive will be led by:
- Andrea A.N. MacLeod, PhD, R.SLP — Professor, University of Alberta
- Lucero Vargas Almeida, R.SLP — Founder and Clinical Lead, MultilinguAbilities
The investment is $900 CAD per participant, and we are currently offering 15% off for groups of 3 or more participants using code 2026MLAB at checkout.
