This presentation will provide an overview of the professional uses of various social media tools including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. The presenters will share social media advocacy strategies used by the British Columbia Association of Speech-Language pathologists and Audiologists (BCASLPA). As ‘hands-on’ practice, the webinar will include a real-life demonstration of social media advocacy on a communication-related topic.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand the possible uses of several common social media tools for professionals. 
  • Employ strategies for appropriate, safe use of social media by professionals. 
  • Develop ideas for using social media for professional advocacy.
