This session pertains to: Adults (18-64) and Seniors (64+)

Level: Introductory (Assumes that the participant has little or no familiarity with the literature and professional practice within the areas covered.)

Ideas and issues surrounding hearing accessibility have been developed and discussed over many years; this is particularly true within a Canadian context. However, there has long been a gap between the ideas of accessible hearing and the practical application of these ideas. Changes in technology, demographics and the legal system also have an impact on hearing accessibility. These developments mean that it’s time for the profession of audiology to explore accessibility once again.

Participants in this webinar will learn about some of the important historical developments on the topic and they will also start to develop ideas of what hearing accessibility means in the present day.
