When you join SAC, you become part of a community of dedicated professionals who are committed to continuous learning and advancing their profession. You have the flexibility to join SAC at any time by creating a member account. We recommend that you review the various member types and eligibility before beginning the process to determine which one suits you best.

A professional who holds a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in audiology from an accredited Canadian program or is registered with a provincial regulatory body is eligible for membership.
Audiologists who have successfully completed the Recognition Agreement application process are also eligible for membership. The Recognition Agreement is exclusive to audiologists who have the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA.
Members can purchase affordable professional liability insurance from SAC’s partnership with BMS Group. Some restrictions apply.

A professional who holds a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in audiology or speech-language pathology from an accredited Canadian program and currently resides and practices outside of Canada. Professionals who successfully completed the Mutual Recognition Agreement application process or the Recognition Agreement application process are also eligible for membership.
International members cannot obtain professional liability insurance through SAC’s partnership with BMS Group.
A graduate of a Canadian educational program for communication health assistants in speech-language pathology or audiology. The educational program must include 200 hours of supervised clinical practicum. Individuals who have successfully completed the Communication Health Assistants Application for Assessment process are also eligible for membership.
Communication Health Assistant Associates can purchase affordable professional liability insurance from SAC’s partnership with BMS Group.
Students currently enrolled in a Canadian or International full-time professional graduate program in speech-language pathology or audiology, whether at the master’s or doctoral level, are eligible for SAC’s FREE Student Associate membership. Additionally, students enrolled in a recognized Canadian communication health assistant program are also eligible for this free membership.
As a bonus, upon graduation, Student Associates may qualify for up to one year of free professional liability insurance and receive a membership fee discount when they join SAC following their graduation.
*Student Associates must submit proof of enrolment on an annual basis.
The Affiliate Associate membership is for an individual who does not meet the criteria of any other membership category (e.g., educators and vendors).
Affiliate Associates cannot obtain professional liability insurance through SAC’s partnership with BMS Group.
SAC members who are transitioning into retirement can maintain their connection to the profession by becoming Retired Associates. As Retired Associates, you will continue to enjoy access to SAC’s valuable resources, webinars, events, and member benefits. Moreover, you can contribute to the profession by volunteering on committees and offering mentorship to the next generation of professionals. After 10 years as a Retired Associate, your membership becomes FREE, and you are no longer required to pay any membership fees.

*Retired Associates are not eligible to participate in the SAC Certification program and do not qualify for professional liability insurance through the BMS Group.

Members of our organization consist of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists. They enjoy full access to all our resources, benefits, and professional development opportunities, including our respected SAC Certification program. Additionally, Members possess the privilege of voting at the Annual General Meeting.
SAC’s “Find a Professional” directory is an online resource designed to assist individuals in Canada in locating Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists within their communities. This directory serves as an exclusive added benefit for Members practicing in Canada. Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists within this category enjoy access to the same resources, benefits, and professional development opportunities, including participation in the SAC Certification program, as regular Members. Additionally, they have the privilege of casting their votes at the Annual General Meeting.
*Members in this category are responsible for ensuring that the information publicly displayed in their “Find a Professional” directory listing remains current and up-to-date.
Associates includes Communication Health Assistants, Students, Retired Associates, and Affiliates. They have equal access to our resources, professional development offerings, and benefits.
Associates are not eligible to participate in our Certification program and do not hold voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting.
