Speech-language pathology training programs provide introductory coursework in audiology; however, speech-language pathologists who have been working for several years may need a refresher on their audiology training. This session provides a review of some of the basics in audiological assessment and interpretation, and also touches on some of the latest developments in hearing aid and FM technology. The session is targeted towards any speech-language clinician who is interested in a refresher course in audiology basics.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- read an audiogram and a tympanogram;
- understand the basic clinical implications of hearing assessment results;
- troubleshoot hearing aids and FM systems; and
- understand some of the new advances in hearing aid and FM technology.
