Connected hearing healthcare offers the potential to better ‘connect’ all individuals involved in delivering and receiving audiological services at a distance by improving service delivery efficiency and overall access to care. This introductory lecture covers key topic areas including current definitions of connected hearing health care and related terminology (e.g., virtual, tele and ehealth), a review of the evidence guiding current clinical practice, common barriers facilitators faced when trying to implement virtual care and the future of audiology as it relates to technology-mediated care.
