According to Audrey Holland, “Aphasia is a family problem.” With this in mind, it is important for speech-language pathologists to provide a family-centered approach to aphasia rehabilitation across the continuum of healthcare.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, the participant will be able to:

  • explain why speech-language pathologists need to address family-centered care in aphasia rehabilitation;
  • apply strategies for implementing a family-centered approach for aphasia rehabilitation in inpatient, outpatient and community healthcare settings; and
  • identify assessments that can be used when working with families in aphasia rehabilitation.
