Présenté par Ashwini Namasivayam-MacDonald, Ph. D., O(C), CCC-SLP, membre OAOO et Jennifer Wong, M. Sc. S., O(C), membre OAOO

The COVID-19 virus has impacted our patients in unusual ways. From loss of taste and smell to fatigue, shortness of breath and coughing, we have been presented with patients with no clear pattern of symptoms, but all deserve the best care we can provide. This session reviews available evidence in regard to best practices for managing patients with COVID-19 in acute care and during their rehabilitation. To consolidate learning, we work through facilitators and barriers to practice.

Learning Objectives
  • Describe how to account for the symptoms of COVID-19 within a comprehensive assessment of swallowing.
  • Identify facilitators and barriers to practice when working within the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Groupes d’âge concernés
  • Adulte (18 à 64 ans)
  • Personnes âgées (65 ans et plus)
