This presentation gives an overview of the current state of research on assistive technology use from the perspective of persons living with combined vision and hearing impairment. Session participants gain a better understanding of this vulnerable population and their rehabilitation challenges. Specifically, what is known about the use and usability of assistive devices and technologies that are available for sensory rehabilitation. Session participants learn about technology research and intervention barriers, facilitators and future design priorities to improve independence and participation for persons living with combined vision and hearing impairment.
