The ability to hear, listen and process auditory information effectively is crucial to learning for all students. Recently, SAC released a position paper on classroom acoustics. This webinar reviews classroom acoustics and the detrimental impact of noise on student learning, as well as the negative health effects on educators and students. The need for acoustic standards in classrooms will also be discussed.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- become familiar with the SAC Position Paper on Classroom Acoustics;
- be able to identify three main factors that influence classroom acoustics and approaches to improve auditory access; and
- be able to understand the need to advocate for awareness and the development of acoustic standards for the classroom.
