A Developmental Approach to Childhood Apraxia of Speech (2020)

Présenté par Susan Rvachew, Ph.D., O(C), Fellow ASHA

Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) impacts speech development from infancy throughout childhood. Therefore, a child’s therapeutic needs change with the acquisition of speech, language, cognitive and motor skills. We recommend treatment procedures for children with CAS, taking into account the speech processes targeted and the learning mechanisms harnessed to meet a child’s specific needs along this developmental trajectory.
