Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) has been a legal end-of-life care option for eligible patients since June 2016. Given the complexity of patients who are provided with an assisted death, some of whom have communication, hearing or swallowing vulnerabilities, the inclusion of speech-language pathologists and audiologists is vital to these patients’ journeys. Two speech-language pathologists will share their experiences working on MAiD teams in Ontario and Manitoba.
