In the context of lengthy waitlists for speech therapy and limited direct care due to the pandemic, we evaluated whether an app could improve parents’ confidence using early language stimulation strategies while waiting for S-LP services. In this session, participants learned about our RCT study, completed at Sundrops Centre for Child Development in Duncan, B.C., which utilized the SpeakEasy: Home Speech Therapy app. We review background research related to intervention with mobile technology, share detailed study results and parent comments, and discuss the implications of the study, including ways to use the SpeakEasy app to improve daily clinical practice.
