Narrative Intervention in Schools (for Communication Health Assistants) (2020)

Many students in elementary and high school struggle to understand and express at the narrative language level. This may include personal narratives, retells, story generation/comprehension or nonfiction. Students have to gather information, organize it, make connections and express themselves. This allows students to build a deeper connection between their understanding and what they read by growing their knowledge of the story grammar schema. 

Learning Objectives

1. Demonstrate an understanding of story grammar schema.
2. Create and implement narrative therapy approaches.
3. Create visual supports for narrative intervention.
