Beginning in 1997, Marsha Johnson, AuD, opened a full-time tinnitus & hyperacusis clinic. In the past 25 years, she has evaluated thousands of patients with the primary complaint of hyperacusis. She developed evaluation processes for hyperacusis and fine-tuned them over the decades. In this presentation, she defines hyperacusis and recommends how to evaluate the severity of the condition. Dr. Johnson also reviews her most successful treatment protocols and therapies for improving hyperacusis symptoms based on her practice.  There is information on the subtypes of hyperacusis and how to address pediatric cases.
