Fostering Evidence-Practice Connections in Childhood Language Disorders

The language used in the descriptions reflects the language of the sessions.

Research and practice in speech-language pathology are intrinsically linked. Researchers endeavour to move evidence into the field and many clinicians aspire to generate evidence from practice. CJSLPA provides a forum to bring clinicians and researchers together in service of these goals. In this presentation, I will highlight key ideas, findings and future directions from recently published research and my own work pertaining to child language disorders, with a focus on clinician-researcher collaborations. I will illustrate in particular how clinicians can contribute to the research and publication process, support CJSLPA’s continued growth and thereby strengthen the evidence-practice connections in childhood language disorders.
