Speech Language Pathologist
Speech-language pathologists are highly trained autonomous professionals who have expertise in typical development and disorders of communication and swallowing, as well as assessment and intervention for these areas. They screen, assess, identify and treat speech, language, voice, fluency (stuttering), swallowing and feeding problems for all age groups.
Audiologists are highly trained autonomous hearing health professionals who identify, diagnose (restricted in some provinces) and manage individuals with peripheral or central hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), balance disorders and other auditory disorders. They screen, assess, identify and treat hearing loss, auditory processing disorders, tinnitus and other auditory disorders as well as balance problems for people of all ages.
