This webinar will provide an overview of practices and evidence related to feeding at the end of life. The presentation will be supplemented by case examples and will utilize a quality improvement lens to discuss potential challenges and approaches when implementing a Comfort Feeding Only policy.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- gain perspectives into variation in terminology related to comfort feeding practices, and will also be asked to reflect on how different interprofessional environments may impact feeding protocols at the end of life; and
- be able to identify clinical rationale for use of a comfort feeding approach, and strategies for discussions with substitute decision-makers.
