The College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) intends to add clinical reasoning measurement to its quality assurance process. This project has generated the following fundamental questions: Can a proposed Clinical Reasoning Tool reflect both professions across different service delivery models? Is the Tool reliable, valid and effective? How can we help members who are identified as having problems with clinical reasoning? Much work has gone into developing and trialling the Clinical Reasoning Tool, and the results positively answered the first two questions. Work will now focus on developing a program that will help members with their clinical reasoning, which will further protect the public.
