Lead supports children ages 2-6 and their families. We believe children learn best through play and within naturally occurring day-to-day activities. Using an “I do, we do, you do” model for learning, we work through the stages of skill development together with children, families and community partners.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work within our dynamic programs. This is a 1 – year temporary full-time or part time position starting immediately with the potential for renewal. In addition to joining a fantastic team, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide developmentally appropriate screenings, assessments and intervention according to best practice, the needs of the child and family, clinical judgment, and government funding requirements.
- Create developmentally appropriate goals for program plans.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for client contact and consistent data collection for tracking progress on goals.
- Teach and coach parent(s) and front line support staff on how to implement strategies within daily routines to facilitate communication and play development;
- Liaison closely with parents, external team members, and internal team members.
What You Bring to the Team
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized University
- Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists (ACSLPA).
- Demonstrates advanced competency and skills for working with children.
- Enjoy working effectively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver child-focused services.
- The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about working with children, teachers and families.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with direction from a supervisor.
- Familiarity with technology and ability to use virtual platforms such as Zoom.
- Satisfactory Police Check with Vulnerable Sectors Search required.
- Satisfactory Child Intervention Record Check needed.
