Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia (HSNS) provides audiology services to Nova Scotians of all ages, and speech-language pathology services to preschool children and adults. HSNS is funded by the NS Government to deliver integrated and standardized provincial services across 35 clinical sites, located in 25 communities. Nationally certified Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, with support from Communication Disorder Technicians and Administrative Support Professionals, provide core services (prevention, diagnosis, and treatment), develop and monitor provincial clinical standards, and collaborate with partners to deliver a number of special programs (e.g., Autism, Stroke, Cochlear Implant). Established in 1963, HSNS works to prevent and reduce the impact of communication disorders for Nova Scotians.

We are accepting applications for a temporary, part-time (0.8 FTE) position of Audiologist. The home base site is Yarmouth. The successful candidate reports to the assigned Manager. The schedule will be flexible to allow for occasional participation in special projects.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Audiology
- Nova Scotia College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP) licensure or eligible for licensure
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English. If English is not your first language further documents will be required.
- Experience with provision of pediatric and adult audiological diagnostic and management procedures in acute and outpatient settings
- Knowledge of discipline specific best practices in screening, diagnostic and rehabilitative audiologic services - Experience with hearing aid verification and validation
- Knowledge of discipline specific best practices in assessment and early intervention of young children with developmental disabilities
- Demonstrated commitment to family-centered care
- Flexibility in schedule to provide evening/weekend services
- Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle as travel is required
- Flexibility to travel on occasion to attend continuing education, events and/or meetings
- Excellent interpersonal/organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel on occasion to a second site for special projects
- Candidate will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to start date
- Candidate will have to demonstrate current immunization and/or boosters at the end of the probationary period Assets:
- Experience working with transdisciplinary clinical teams and working with supportive personnel (e.g., Communication Disorders Technicians)
- Ability to provide bilingual clinical services
- Two years in clinical experience within the last 5 years
