SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

THRIVE Child Development Centre/Centre de développement de l’enfant is an incorporated, non-profit Children’s Treatment Centre employing 80 staff made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, therapy assistants, early childhood educators, applied behaviour analysis therapists and support staff. We provide inter-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation, respite care, an on-site childcare program and resource support to community childcare centres in Sault Ste. Marie and throughout the District of Algoma. Our philosophy of service delivery upholds family involvement and enablement as an integral part of effective intervention. Our services support the long-term outcomes of community participation and quality of life.

If you are seeking a dynamic and challenging role in supporting the communicative development of children and youth with a variety of physical, developmental and communicative challenges, THRIVE has a position for you. Using a family-centred, strengths-based approach, you will join our experienced and dedicated professional staff to provide a range of assessment, intervention and community based services.

We currently require one full-time permanent Speech Language Pathologist.  This position supports children & youth in-Centre, in-home and/or in-school, within Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District (travel required). The position may be located out of one of THRIVE’s office in Sault Ste Marie or in one of the rural locations (i.e., Elliot Lake, Blind River, and/or Wawa). As the successful candidate for this position, you will have a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, be eligible for membership in the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and have a valid driver’s license. Vaccination status?  Access to a reliable vehicle is also a requirement.  Current CPR/First Aid Certification is required and the ability to communicate in both official languages would be an asset. Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication assessment and intervention an asset.
