The Speech and Language University Clinic at Laurentian University of Sudbury is seeking applications for the following position:

Required: Full time Speech-language Pathologist (1 FTE)*
Hours: 33.75 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible

Compensation: $38.88 - $50.22/hour + 4 %, based on education and experience

*Temporary Appointment from February 2019 to June 2020, with possibility of renewal


The Speech-Language Pathologist, under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager:

  • conducts speech-language assessments as well as clinical consultations and interventions for children and adults while respecting the procedures established by Laurentian University’s School of Speech-Language Pathology and the Speech and Language University Clinic;
  • collaborates with multidisciplinary teams (i.e., teachers, principals, other health professionals, etc.) as needed;
  • supervises students enrolled in the Laurentian University School of Speech-Language Pathology program during their internships at the University Clinic.

The work must be accomplished in accordance with the practice guidelines and standards established by the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). Due to the clinical requirements and the internship schedule of the master's degree program in speech-language pathology, the Speech-Language Pathologist's tasks must be completed every academic semester (fall, winter, spring-summer) during the practicum days.


  • Master's degree in Speech-Language pathology;
  • Member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO);
  • Knowledge of practice guidelines and standards established by CASLPO and Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC);
  • Discretion and respect for the confidential nature of the work;
  • Relevant experience in office administration in a post-secondary environment;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Mail and Google Drive;
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with faculty members, clinicians and students; 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Initiative, sound judgment and tact;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • A valid driver's license and good-driving record is strongly recommended;
  • Willing and able to travel to different communities in Northern Ontario; 
  • A criminal record (vulnerable sector) will be required of the selected candidate;
  • Perform all tasks related to this position.
