Skylark Therapy has an exciting opportunity for a creative 0.6FTE Speech Language Pathologist to work in our office on Monday/Wednesday/Friday 10:30-6:30.  The salary is $36,000 p.a. with regular raises.

The start date is February 1st, or March 1st, 2022. Short term furnished housing is available for those wishing to move into the area and establish themselves.



  • 0.6FTE Speech Language Pathologist wanted to support children with diverse needs. An interest in or desire to work with young children who require support to develop skills using augmentative and alternative communication systems is desired.

  • supervision to those therapists interested in getting onto the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list to be able to provide assessment and treatment to children with autism 6 years of age or younger


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of services to young children
  • Provide weekly or twice weekly therapy sessions
  • Conduct assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment team for ASD (autism spectrum disorder) diagnosis
  • Support children with diverse challenges
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of of diagnostic, therapeutic and child development principles to provide evidence-based services and create functional, innovative solutions
  • Timely documentation of clinical data, assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes
  • Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with families and other therapists
  • Demonstrate polite and assertive communication skills
  • Have strong critical thinking skills
  • Performing sundry administrative tasks when not seeing clients



  • Licensure with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC
  • Registration or eligibility for registration on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list (supervision available)
  • Up to date criminal record check for working with vulnerable populations

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and manage caseload independently


About Skylark Therapy

  • We are an innovative, creative, and well-equipped collaborative private clinic in Port Moody providing client-centered speech-language (SLP) services to a pediatric population. At present, we have 3 full time Speech Language Pathologists, 2 Music Therapists and an Occupational Therapist
  • Many of our clients are on the Autism Spectrum but increasingly we are receiving requests for services for preschool and young school-aged clients who are waitlisted for public services.
  • We receive a sizable number of requests for an AAC trained SLP and will provide training to someone with interest in this area.
  • We have an extensive range of materials, toys and therapy activities and have up to date assessment materials for the preschool and school aged populations.


COVID-19 considerations:

  • We currently have a full cleaning plan in place to keep our consultants, children, and families as safe as possible. All adults and children over 12 are required to wear a mask when able. Children under 6 are encouraged to wear a mask when able.
